Capturing the essence of a brand is paramount to the successful adaptation of marketing copy from one language to another. Different brands, different voices! It is crucial for any freelance translator to understand who your customers are. Knowing what your target audience is like will help both copywriters and translators use the appropriate tone of […]
Hurry! The Women Fashion Power exhibition closes on Sunday 26th April 2015. Deep dive into fashion history at the Design Museum as the show reviews the past 150 years. This isn’t your typical fashion exhibition in the sense that it doesn’t focus on one designer or a particular trend. Zaha Hadid, the renowned architect, designed […]
The House of Illustration revisits the work of an iconic American illustrator in an amazing exhibition called ‘Mac Conner: A New York Life‘. The show opens this month in London and will go on until the end of June 2015. The museum is a stone’s throw away from Kings Cross and St Pancras International stations […]
Get that seaside holiday feel in the heart of London! St Katharine Docks is by far my favourite spot in the capital. And here is why…St Katharine Docks’ West Dock.
Although we all welcome having a four-day weekend, sorting your bank holiday plans can sometimes be depressing. Winter months have taken their toll. You are in a dire need to change your mind and you are longing for your next city break. Procrastination and skyrocketing prices can ruin your hopes of spending the Easter bank holiday outside London. But who needs the countryside when you have St Katharine Docks?
St Katharine Docks: a not so secret garden
Hold off on any travel extravaganza! There is no need to break the bank to blow off some steam. All you need is an Oyster card. Hop on the tube and get off at Tower Hill station. I am sure you are probably frowning upon the prospect of taking the District or Circle lines but it is well worth the trouble. Escapism is just around the corner. Say goodbye to the noisy streets surrounding Tower of London as you take a short walk to St Katharine Docks. You won’t believe that this beautiful and rather secluded marina is just a 5-minute walk from Tower Bridge – one of London’s major landmarks.
St Katharine Docks is a not so secret garden. The marina is home to pristine white yachts of all sizes. This peaceful heaven is located just outside the City of London. Children and adults alike will enjoy watching the drawbridges in action as boats get in and out of the marina. Stroll along the cobbled paths on a sunny day to experience the Docks at their best.
It is one of my favourite spots in London because it is a lovely and lively place with a village-like feel. Grab a coffee and enjoy the view. Take a look at the cute boutiques along the docks.
St Katharine Docks is one of the best places for outdoor dining in London
I also love St Katharine Docks because it is without a doubt one of the best places to eat al fresco in London! The view is beautiful, the location is central and the area is safe. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants where you can have lunch or dinner. So invite your mum for a nice lunch or go with friends!
You can go for a drink at The Dickens Inn on Marble Quay, near the East Dock. Colourful flowers hang on the balconies of this massive two-storey pub. If you’re a sucker for Starbucks, you will love their branch there. It is rather small but the location and the round shape of the building set it apart from other branches. And they offer free Wi-Fi! You will find the usual restaurant chains like Café Rouge, Strada and Zizzi along with other restaurants like the River Lounge or the Indian place called Mala.
After lunch, why not cross Tower Bridge for a digestive walk to the nearby Design Museum? If you’re into fashion, walk a little further toward Bermondsey Street where you will find the Fashion & Textile Museum.
Apparently, the Good Food Market opens on Friday between 11am and 3pm. I haven’t experienced it first hand (because I’m stuck at the office) but do comment if you’ve tried it. So what are you up to next weekend?

Top notch product descriptions are vital to any online shop. I would recommend not to use the manufacturer’s product descriptions if you sell the same products as your competition because they are likely to use them too. You don’t want to end up with duplicate content! This is when hiring a native French copywriter comes […]
